MailCraft AI for Gmail is a Chrome extension that helps users draft replies, summarize email content, adjust tone, and manage writing preferences inside Gmail.

Information We Collect

MailCraft AI for Gmail may collect or process the following information only as needed to provide the extension's features:

• Gmail message content selected or used by the user for reply generation, draft assistance, or summarization
• Draft text, reply instructions, tone settings, language settings, and message metadata needed to generate a response
• User profile, writing style, relationship notes, banned phrases, signature, selected model, and similar customization settings entered by the user
• Chrome Google account email address and Google account ID, used for account linking, subscription restore, group access, and usage limits
• MailCraft user ID generated by the extension
• Purchase email and Stripe Checkout or subscription reference ID, when the user chooses to connect a website purchase to the extension
• Group names, invite codes, group membership identifiers, leader permissions, and shared customization settings for team features
• Usage status, plan type, and usage counts needed to enforce plan limits
• Local learning summaries that describe how a generated message was edited before sending

How We Use Information

We use the information above to generate AI-assisted replies and summaries, apply user preferences, provide local learning features, verify plan status, restore purchases, link accounts, support group features, prevent abuse, diagnose issues, and respond to support requests.

Local Storage

Some settings are stored locally in Chrome extension storage on the user's device, including preferences, profile fields, signature, selected model, active group, local learning summaries, and account linking identifiers. Local learning summaries are intended to store compact edit patterns rather than full sent messages. Users can delete learning memory from the extension options page.

Data Sent to MailCraft Services

When a user asks the extension to generate a reply or summarize an email, the extension sends the required content and settings to MailCraft backend services hosted on Cloudflare Workers:

The extension does not continuously read Gmail. Email content is processed when the user invokes reply generation, draft assistance, or summarization.

Third-Party Services

MailCraft may use Cloudflare Workers for backend API hosting, OpenAI API or similar AI model providers for AI generation and summarization, Stripe for payment processing and subscription management, and Google Chrome identity APIs for reading the signed-in Chrome Google account email. Payment card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by MailCraft.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties except when necessary to provide the service through processors such as Cloudflare, OpenAI, Stripe, or Google APIs, when required by law, when the user gives consent, or when needed to protect the security, rights, or integrity of MailCraft, users, or the service.

Data Retention

Local extension data remains on the user's device unless the user deletes it or uninstalls the extension. Backend account, subscription, group, and usage data may be retained while the user uses the service and for a reasonable period afterward as needed for billing, support, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and service operations.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards such as encrypted transport, access controls, and data minimization. However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

User Choices

Users can review AI-generated text before sending, edit or delete local customization settings, delete local learning memory from the options page, uninstall the extension to remove local extension data from Chrome, and contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or support related to account data.
